Berlin

The year is slowly ending and I'm asking myself where the time has gone. It seems to me like the year just started yesterday.

I was MIA for a while now but I'm sure you all understand, the pre Christmas time and now the new year is already knocking at the door.

Before this year ends, I would like to tell you about our short trip to Berlin.

It was the second time for me to be in the German capitol and luckily this time with better weather. We took the train early in the morning and arrived early afternoon in Berlin. This gave us time to see the main sights, like the Reichstag, Brandenburger Tor, Checkpoint Charly.

The following day we explored more of the downtown area and went to the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum (including a Star Wars exhibition).

All in all we had a great time and were able to see a lot of the busy city but we were happy to head back home. The country life just takes up a bigger part of our hearts.

Halloween Partner Outfit: Killer Clowns

Fast zwei Wochen ist Halloween her.

Girl Killer Clown: Kleid-Primark/ Boots-NewLook/ Legging-H&M/ Türkis, Pink Hair Spray/ Makeup-Kryolan Fettfarbe
Boy Killer Clown: Jeans-Levi's/ Shoes-Deichmann/ Trenchcoat-? / Makeup-Kryloan Fettfarbe

Halloween was almost two weeks ago. This year everything was last minute! I had actually planned to be a zombie again and my boyfriend as "The Crow". When the contact lenses that I ordered didn't come in, I had to think fast of what we were going to dress up as.

Thanks to a coworker who suggested "IT", I came up with idea of killer clown a la American Horror Story: Freak Show.

I bought fake blood and tooth black out. I already had colored hair spray and make up at home. What I really liked about this look was that you could be totally sloppy! The messier, the better!

In the end the costumes, house decoration and candy were a success with both adults and kids!

RECORD of this year: 10 kids avoided the house. I guess you can call that a success!

Meet Chewiebacca

Almost a month ago our little family grew by a further member.

Welcome the little Chewiebacca!

My boyfriend and I wanted to get a dog at the beginning of this year but our previous landlords didn't agree with that. Now that we have moved to a new place and we have gotten used to it around here, we took the chance.

Chewiebacca originally comes from Hungary and is almost 4 months old. He belongs to the Yorkshire Terrier breed. We do not know if he is pure breed or who his parents are because we got him from a family and not a breeder but we don't care, because we try to do our utmost for him.

At the moment we have a lot of vet appointments to keep him healthy and fit. Weekly he enjoys going to the puppy play hour to play and learn with others.

Chewie is my first dog so a lot of it is new for me and I have to read into things but it is a fun and exciting journey.

How he got his name you ask! Well ofcourse from Chewbacca from Star Wars! But only the tiny version. Whoever wants to see what Chewie is up to, can follow him on INSTAGRAM!

(Rechts-Klick zum Vergrößern/ Right-click to enlarge)

A lot of things have been on hold of what I wanted to tell you about. This has a good reason, which you will find out soon!

Since traveling to Cologne I have found a new "love". Weekend trips! I just love the idea of being somewhere else for a few days. Just to see something else, different architecture, different language.

Prague was the right choice ofcourse because the capital of the Czech Republic is only three hours away. That means short traveling time and more time for adventure. Our two day stay actually seemed longer!

On the first day we took a city tour and were able to see beautiful buildings and learn about the city. For lunch we stopped at my favorite restaurant which serves traditional Czech meals. I couldn't pass the potatoe soup served in a bread bowl! After that we shopped around at the mall and later on that day we went to a wax museum. I love wax museums, I don't know why but I guess you can call it a hobby.

On the second day before we headed home by bus, we still had plenty of hours to view the city in all its glory. For lunch we ate at the Hard Rock Café (ATTENTION: the nachos are sold as an appetizer but believe me its a meal on its own for two people!) At the city center there were musicians and actors. Lots of tourists and guides. After that we went to a further wax museum, the Grévin. It must have just recently opened and I was excited! What I really liked about it was that the figurines were put in scene to represent something and there were little add-ons to make you fit better into the picture. It was quite funny!

We both had a wonderful time, in addition the weather was just beautiful! I can only recommend Prague (this was my third time there).

If you want to see more pictures of our travels or what I do on a daily basis, make sure to check out my Instagram, I post more often there!

Michigan

Ach, etwas Deutschland in Amerika.

It's been a while but I would still like to tell you about our trip to Michigan.

Middle of April (shortly after we moved into our new apartment) we flew to Michigan for a week. It was a short but eventful week. The last time I had been in the States, was two years ago, when I went on a West Coast trip with a friend (has it really been that long?)

Michigan is know for its lakes and funny named towns "Paradise" and "Hell". Ofcourse we had to visit Hell. It was a really quirky place and had a Halloween vibe to it. You can even get married there because you know, it can only get better from there!

What I was really surprised about was seeing an ALDI. A little bit of Germany in the States, it made me feel like I was home. It does look different inside and they carry little products from Europe.

The landscape of Michigan is very nice, very green. It was still Autumn when we were there, but one can only imagine how everything is in bloom during the summer. There are many farms and forests.

I am always fascinated by the houses. Every house looks completely different. Some you can imagine in Horror movies, others have a Southern flair, some are made of wood, others out of brick, some with a patio, others without. The possibilities are countless. Although it seems a little old fashion to me, in a sense it has something cozy and homey.

Now to actual reason we were there. We visited my boyfriend's family. It was nice to meet a lot of them and finally see their faces! I was taken aback because my family is quite smaller and more spread apart. I was kindly greeted and welcomed into the family. That really meant a lot to me and it sort of lifted a weight off of my shoulders.

The week before last I had a surprised planned for my boyfriend! For months I have been wanting to tell him about, but I kept quiet because I wanted my surprise to be a success. One day before we left, I broke the silence and he couldn't believe it. At the time he only knew we were going to Cologne for a short trip. The true surprise would take place the second day we were there.

On the first day we visited the reknown Kölner Dom and walked through the city. It was quite windy but the temperatures were still pleasent. Whoever follows my Instagram gets to see a bit more of the behind the scenes.

On the second it was finally time. I wore one of his Star Wars Tshirts and showed him the tickets of "Star Wars Identities". He was super excited because he is such a huge Star Wars fan. The exhibition is held at the adventure museum Odysseum. Whoever would like to visit the exhibition can do so until the 17. November.

As a Star Wars amateur, I have to say that I really enjoyed the exhibition. It was really interesting to see how the whole Star Wars concept got created. The costumes, prototypes etc. were amazing. Especially for kids the exhibition was a wonderful and fun place because it was interactive. They learned about mankind and what forms us and in the end they created their own Star Wars character.

I can only recommend this exhibition!

Volksfest

It's about that time again in Bavaria. Funfairs, county fairs and other local festivities are popping up like daisies. The Gäuboden Volksfest, Gillamoos and the Regensburger Dult are always worth seeing but one can also find cozy funfairs in smaller towns that reflect the Bavarian flair.

Bavaria is, for my boyfriend and I, our adopted home. Originally we both aren't from Bavaria/Germany. We enjoy the calm life style, good food and the beautiful landscape that Bavaria has to offer.

Have you been to Bavaria before? How did you like it? If you haven't traveled to Bavaria, what would you like to see?

trend IT UP - Contour & Glide Lipliner

Just recently the store brand "trend IT UP" can be found in most DM stores (drugstore chain in Europe). The small yet professional display presents lipsticks, lipliners, nail polishes, mascaras and eyeliners. The simple design and affordable prices was what caught my eyes. After researching a little bit, I also found out that "trend IT UP" is cruelty-free, which is a huge bonus!

Many that know me, know that I mostly use lipliners as lipsticks because the coverage and wearing-period work better for me.

I am quite surprised about the quality of these lipliners. They are very smooth and have good pigmentation. Another plus side is that a sharpener is integrated at the back end of the liner! Of course there are many more colors to choose from but for the beginning I decided myself for these four.

#040 - A soft pink that is very natural
#060 - A lighter orange red which is perfect for autumn
#010 - The perfect nude for me
#080 - A raspberry color that does not come across too pink

Have you already tried the new brand of DM? Let me know in the comment section!

How To: Put on a Wig

Tomorrow I start at my new job, so before I don't have anymore time to blog, I wanted to show you all how to wear a wig without it looking fake.

Important to know:
Yes, you will feel that you are wearing a wig but others usually don't realize.
Yes, at first it might seem odd, just like trying out false lashes etc.
Wear it with confidence, as if it were your own hair.
It is an accessory like jewelry, make up or glasses.
1. Lasst uns anfangen! Das werdet ihr brauchen:
Perücke, Haarnetzt, Kamm, Bürste und Haarklammern (in Farbe der Perücke am Besten)
Let us start! This is what you'll need:
Wig, wig cap, comb, brush and bobby pins (preferably in the color of the wig)
I have curly middle long hair. To hide the hair with my kind of texture, works best with freshly washed hair or 1-2 day unwashed hair.

Next thing to do, comb your hair, then use your brush to slick back the hair. Use a little bit of water or gel to keep your hair in place. After doing this twirl your hair in a ponytail and keep your bobby pins at hand.

Pin down your hair as flat as possible to your scalp. It should look something like in the second picture. Afterwards it's time for the wig cap. The wig cap keeps your own hair in place and also prevents your wig from sliding around.

The first picture show the wig cap in place. If you want, you can pin it down with bobby pins but that's optional. Now it's time for the wig! Under the wig there are usually 3-4 combs as well as 2 strings that have hooks to put through the loops to loosen or tighten the wig on your head. Now put on your wig from front to back. I find it easier that way.

6. Voilá! Deine Frisur ist hiermit fertig!
And you're done! You new hairstyle is complete!

Here are a few tips to make your wig look natural:
- Put a little bit of powder on a powder brush and go over the wig, this will make the wig lose some of its shine.
- Most lace front wigs come with a part. Use powder or concealer to go along the part to make it look like your own.
- If you wish a stronger hold, feel free to use more bobby pins to keep your wig in place.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and I was able to answer your questions. If you still have doubts or questions just leave these in the comment section below!

Blah Blah Blah

 Tank Top -  H&M+/ Hose(Pants) - C&A/ Ohrringe(Earrings) - Claire's/ Schuhe(Shoes) - White Mountain/ Uhr(Watch) - Casio/ Sonnenbrille(Sunglasses) - Ähnlich/Similar/ Kette(Necklace) -H&M (Ähnlich/Similar)

It has been really hot in Germany and finally it is raining! I think everyone here has been looking forward for the pleasent cool off. One can finally breath in some fresh air. I really don't know how people do it in areas that are always blazing with heat.

I wore this outfit on one of the hotter days. That day I was hanging out with my mom for some quality mother daughter time. We went shopping, tried on fancy dresses, laughed a lot and got some great sales!

You will probably recognize this top from my instragram. I just love it especially with the gold writing. White jeans would look so perfect to this. To add some pazaaz I wore golden accessories. For my feet I needed something comfortable, having said that, I chose my black glitter sandals.
